Updates...

A ton has happened since I last wrote. I decided to do one more figure competition after I won my class at the Julie Palmer in June. After vacation I went back into dieting and training for almost nine weeks to get ready for the Ohio State and Great Lakes shows, two shows that took place at the same venue back to back on the same day. I was so nervous because the competition was much stronger at this show, plus I was all alone. Miami's first home game was that day and Zak wouldn't be able to come. However, between the prejuding and evening shows Zak called and said he'd left directly after the game and was on his way up with Reagan. My heart soared and I was so thrilled that they'd be able to come. When the awards were presented I received first in my class in both the Ohio State and Great Lakes shows!!!! I didn't win the overall (it went to the same girl who won the Julie Palmer), however I was elated!

I may have qualified to do national shows, but Zak and I have decided to put that on the backburner and reprioritize. I feel that God put me on this Earth to be a mommy and a wife first and foremost, and I want more children. So, we're trying for Baby #2! I'll keep you posted on that!

Since the show I feel that my life has gotten back into a normal, and happy, routine. I can now enjoy meals with my family, take care of my home, and play with Reagan. Of course I still go to the gym, I love it! However, my priorities lie with my home and my family. Til next time......

Julie Palmer Show

Well, all the weeks of training and dieting paid off! I entered the 2011 Julie Palmer Ultimate Figure Showdown and won the Novice division and won the Medium Open division. It was great!!!! I felt so good and was so proud of myself!

Zak was there for every minute of it, helping with my tan, cheering me of from the audience, taking pictures, keeping me sane between the prejudging and the finals. I was so happy that he could be there.

I hope to enter a few more shows this fall, depending on where they are. I also plan to start working with Mike Davies as far as my nutrition and training goes. He suggested I enter the Ohio State in September, which I would like to do if it's okay for me to train for 10 weeks instead of 12. My sister-in-law is getting married in July and we're going on vacation, so I'd really like to enjoy my vacation and not have to worry about dieting so strict. I plan to eat clean, and understand that if I want to be great at this there is a price to be paid!

Oh well! Guess we'll see! Wish me luck!

Seven weeks to go!

I can't believe I'm almost halfway to the show! The past few weeks have gone by rather quickly! This week I was on point with weight. I have five more weeks to drop ten pounds (which is do-able if I stick to my diet and continue training correctly). I've been doing three day low carb and one high carb day, but I feel so guilty when I eat a lot of carbs! Guess that's a good mindset to have, that way I don't fall off the wagon too far! Cardio is at 50 minutes a day right now, but starting May 2 I go to cardio two-a-days. Fun fun fun!!! That should help me cut weight faster. I'm so excited about this show. I feel that my physique already looks better than it did at the last show. I think I finally found the training routine and diet that works for me!

Figure Prep- 10 weeks out

Ten weeks (65 days) left til the Julie Palmer Ultimate Figure Showdown. I plan to do both Figure Novice and the Open Figure. I am super pumped. Training is going well. Doing one body part a day and about 50 minutes of cardio. I feel like my diet is good, however I'm not seeing the results I thought I would. The worst thing that I eat all day is half a piece of fat free cheese, a banana, and two tablespoons of natural peanut butter (not all together, eww). There's a lot to keep me busy so that I'm not constantly thinking about food. The house and Reagan keep me very busy! It seems like my whole world revolves around when my next meal will be and what I will have. I just need to rewire my mind to think of food as fuel, not the main thing.
